Going vegan doesn’t mean a life without brownies. Satisfy your sweet tooth with these delicious chocolaty brownies, packed full of natural sugar
Ingredients
Boiling water | 3/4 Cup |
Bicarbonate of soda | 1 tsp |
Dried dates | 200g |
Butter | 200g |
Aquafaba (http://aquafaba.com/) | 250ml |
Vanilla essence | 2 tsp |
Brown sugar | 1/2 cup |
Cocoa powder | 1 Cup |
Plain white flour | 1 Cup |
Baking powder | 1/2 tsp |
Blackstrap molasses | 2 tbsp |
Raw chocolate nibs | 200g |
Method
1 | Chop the dates and it to the boiling water with bicarbonate of soda |
2 | Whisk the aquafaba, slowly adding the sugar |
3 | Add the butter to the dates and mash |
4 | Add the date mixture to the Aquafaba |
5 | Add the vanilla essence and the baking powder |
6 | Beat slowly while adding the cocoa and the flour |
7 | Add the molasses and salt and beat and fold in the chocolate chips |
8 | Put in greeseproof dish and place in the oven for 50 minutes at 160 |
