Going vegan doesn’t mean a life without brownies. Satisfy your sweet tooth with these delicious chocolaty brownies, packed full of natural sugar

Ingredients

Boiling water3/4 Cup
Bicarbonate of soda1 tsp
Dried dates200g
Butter200g
Aquafaba (http://aquafaba.com/)250ml
Vanilla essence2 tsp
Brown sugar1/2 cup
Cocoa powder1 Cup
Plain white flour1 Cup
Baking powder1/2 tsp
Blackstrap molasses2 tbsp
Raw chocolate nibs200g

Method

1Chop the dates and it to the boiling water with bicarbonate of soda
2Whisk the aquafaba, slowly adding the sugar
3Add the butter to the dates and mash
4Add the date mixture to the Aquafaba
5Add the vanilla essence and the baking powder
6Beat slowly while adding the cocoa and the flour
7Add the molasses and salt and beat and fold in the chocolate chips
8Put in greeseproof dish and place in the oven for 50 minutes at 160
